The Amazing Concept of Wormholes from a sixth grader's perspective (and other stuff)

Wormholes. Those crazy things people say are in space. Know how wormholes supposedly work? I'll try to explain, the way my teacher did (but she had a sheet so it was easier)
So, planets have gravity, right? So pretend you have a sheet. The sheet is the fabric of the universe, ok? A ball (pretending to be a planet) is in the middle of the sheet. If you lift the sheet up, the ball makes a dent in the sheet.
The concept of wormholes is that the planet make so big a dent that two sides of the fabric of the universe touch. So instead of going this far (across the side of the sheet) _________________________ you go this far ( from one side to the other) _. It's easier to explain if there's a visual.
"If you wish to make an apple pie from scratch, you must first invent the universe." -Someone whose name I forgot.
Well, off to see the wizard (not really).
see ya
